Certification -
All applications are reviewed by the Panel of Examiners and by the Certification Board. Applicants are certified based on a combination of education obtained and experience gained in the surveying and mapping industry. All members are encouraged to apply for re-certification once additional experience and/or education has been acquired. New members are certified at one of four levels:
• Technician
• Senior Technician
• Technologist
• Senior Technologist
Upon certification, members are encouraged and entitled to use the letters CST (Certified Survey Technologist/Technician) after their name. New members receive a certificate suitable for framing and a wallet card, which is updated annually.
Who Can Join -
Anyone involved in the field of Geomatics within Alberta, Yukon Territory and the Northwest Territories is eligible for full membership.
Enrolled students and interested persons involved in surveying, mapping or related occupations may join the Society as Student or Associate Members.
